IMPHAL, Oct 24 : The proscribed RPF has condemned the drone strike carried out by the Indian Army at Khenmoi-Louyi (Khammoi) village, East Konyak Region, Myanmar on October 20, 2025.
According to a press release issued by the outfit’s Deputy Secretary, Publicity Roben Khuman, two civilians- a 27-year old man and an eight-year old girl were killed in the drone strike and four others were critically injured.
The RPF condemned the drone strike of India as an act of cowardice, genocide and war crime.
Expressing sincere condolences over the loss of the young man and the child during the drone strikes on October 20, 2025, RPF said that it stands in solidarity with the injured and traumatized survivors.
It also reaffirmed its commitment to amplify their calls for justice, accountability, and dignity in the face of continuing aggression.
Killing of civilians in the name of counter insurgency operation is not new to Indian Army; the incident of Rose and Manorama are vivid examples of Indian Army’s heinous crime against civilians of WeSEA, the outfit alleged.
Now India has just used new means, drones, to murder civilians. This deliberate cross-border attack on Naga civilian communities represents a grave violation of international humanitarian norms and human decency.
This is not an isolated incident. It follows a pattern of Indian drone operations and cross-border strikes earlier in 2025 that targeted both civilian areas and alleged armed group sites along the Indo-Myanmar frontier, it alleged.
Independent observers, ethnic forums, and civil society organisations have repeatedly expressed alarm over this emerging policy of drone warfare that places civilians directly in harm’s way and erodes the sanctity of human life, the outfit said.
It has also urged civil society and human rights groups in the WESEA region to bring this grave incident to the attention of international human rights and humanitarian organisations, as well as the relevant bodies of the United Nations, and to press for an immediate, independent international inquiry into the October 20, 2025 drone strike and earlier related attacks, to hold the perpetrators accountable under international criminal law; to halt all cross-border military operations that endanger civilian populations; and to ensure urgent humanitarian access and protection for the affected communities.
