Ranji Trophy Plate Group K Priyojit scores another ton, guides Manipur to 300/5 against Bihar at stumps on Day 1

IMPHAL, Oct 25 : Kangabam Priyojit scored his second First Class tournament century and was unbeaten on 134 as Manipur posted a decent total of 300/5 at stumps on Day 1 of the second Ranji Trophy Plate Group match against Bihar at Gokulbhai Somabhai Patel Stadium, Nadiad.
Manipur won the toss and opted to bat first this morning.
Opener Karnajit had a very short stay as he departed on a 2-ball duck to Amod Yadav in the first over but Khwairakpam Ulenyai and  Longjam  Ronald showed character to calm the nerves and forged a 67-run partnership off 121 balls until Amod bowled out Ulenyai for 42 (off 59 balls, 8 fours).
Manipur slipped to 91/3 with L Ronald getting run out on 41 (off 90 balls; 6 fours) by R Pratap Singh in the fourth delivery of the 30th over after collecting 24 runs with Ngariyanbam Johnson.
Kangabam Priyojit, who scored his maiden First Class century (102 off  204 balls) in the first outing against Sikkim, then joined forces to stitch together 92 runs off 131 balls for the fourth wicket with Ng Johnson who was undone on 41 (off 99 balls, 5 fours) by Sachin Kumar as the scoreboard read 183 just after Priyojit completed his half century.
Incoming Pheiroijam Jotin too failed to make his mark; he fell for a 9-ball 5 to Sachin Kumar in the second delivery of the 55th over. From 189/5, K Priyojit stood firm to score his second ton of the season and forged a remarkable 6th wicket partnership of 111 runs off 215 balls with Md Al Bashid to guide Manipur to 300/5.
Priyojit was unbeaten on 134 off 174 balls (20 fours, 1 six) and Al Bashid was not out on 31 off 108 balls as Manipur closed out the day on 300/5.
