Where Trust Is Missing
Dr Ranbir Laishram
Everyone speaks of trust.
Everyone says—trust,
Trust alone can heal,
Trust alone can bring harmony.
Yet trust is missing—
Missing among people,
Missing between rival groups,
Missing within ethnic circles.
My mind whispers—
If one does not believe,
If one refuses to accept trust,
No amount of advice,
No round of talks,
No endless negotiations
Can bring peace.
Words may be wise,
Plans may be sound,
But sometimes,
What we truly need
Is a firm guiding hand
A single, unbending will
To bind wounds,
To silence guns.
For in underdeveloped lands,
In places where resources are scarce,
Democracy falters,
And the free flow of reason
Has no place to grow.
