Arms recovered

IMPHAL, Oct 2 : Security forces recovered a cache of arms, ammunition and explosives yesterday.
According to a bulletin issued by Police Control Room, one M-16 automatic rifle with a magazine, two single barrel rifles, two 9mm pistols with magazines, one improvised mortar, two local made HE no 36 hand grenades, one smoke grenade, 19 INSAS empty cases, three 12 bore empty rounds, two 12 bore live rounds, nine AK-47 empty cases, nine 7.62mm empty cases, one Baofeng wireless set and some protective gears were recovered from the general area between Mavom and Nepali Basti in Churachandpur district.
From Hanna Ching under Heingang police station in Imphal East, security forces recovered one 9mm SMG carbine with a magazine, one 12 bore single barrel guns, one 12 bore double barrel gun, one local made barrel gun, two 9mm pistols with magazines, one .45 pistol with a magazine, one .32 pistol with a magazine and two 9mm live ammunition.
A large cache of guns and ammunition viz one .303 sniper rifle with lens, one 9mm pistol, , one .32 pistol with a magazine, two single barrel guns, three pompis, one Chinese hand grenade, five 36 hand grenades with two detonators, fifteen detonators, four safety fuses, five hand grenade rings, two grenades, thirteen single bulletproof iron plates, five .303 LMG magazines, one INSAS LMG magazine, six Baofeng radio sets with two chargers, two PEK explosives, five tube launchers, one smoke shell, 13 stun shells, two tear smoke shells, one INSAS rifle upper handguard, one AK magazine, 29 rounds of AK live ammunition, 26 blank cartridges and four rounds of INSAS rifle live ammunition among others were recovered from Khonghampat Mantri Leikai Chingkhong area under Sekmai police station in Imphal West.
Moreover, security forces also recovered one pompi gun, two 12 bore shot guns and one Baofeng handheld set from the foothills of Chambirok area under Sekmai police station in Imphal West.
