IMPHAL, Oct 2 : The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, successfully organised the closing function and award distribution ceremony of Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan (SNSPA) 2025 and Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 at the General OPD Block, RIMS Hospital, today.
On this occasion, Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS, Imphal, also launched the month-long Special Campaign 5.0 for institutionalizing Swachhata and reducing pendency, and formally unveiled the Special Campaign 5.0 T-shirt, symbolizing the campaign’s commitment to cleanliness and sustainability.
The event also coincided with the celebration of Swachh Bharat Diwas.
As per a release issued by RIMS, the event was graced by dignitaries, including Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS, Imphal; Prof N Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, RIMS Hospital; Prof Y Govindaraj Singh, Nodal Officer, SAP 2025-26, RIMS; and Prof Vijaya Elangbam, Nodal Officer, SNSPA, RIMS, Imphal.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Sunil Kumar reaffirmed RIMS’ commitment to public health, women’s empowerment, and community well-being in line with the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, while appreciating the active participation of all sections of the institute.
He highlighted the successful culmination of the 15-day SNSPA and Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 observance, and announced the formal launch of Special Campaign 5.0.
Recalling Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of a clean and empowered India, he emphasized that these initiatives seek to translate that vision into reality.
During the programme, awards and appreciation certificates were presented to individuals and groups in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the SNSPA and Swachhata Hi Seva 2025.
Moreover, a health camp was organised for the staff and students of Herbert School, Changangei, Imphal, under the SNSPA and Swachhata Hi Seva 2025.
A total of 361 individuals benefited from the camp.
A tree plantation drive was also carried out at the New Guest House Campus, RIMS, Imphal, further reinforcing the institute’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
