U-19 Women’s T20 Trophy Manipur thrash Mizoram by 5 wickets for third win on trot

IMPHAL, Oct 29 : Manipur thrashed Mizoram by 5 wickets for the third win on the trot in the ongoing U-19 Women’s T20 Trophy Plate Group competition at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Ground, Lucknow.
Toss winners Mizoram folded up their first innings for a meagre total of 86/8 as Manipur bowlers produced economical bowling performances.
State lasses then chased down the target in 18.4 overs with 5 wickets left to spare and extended their winning run to three games.
Sandhia 21 not out off 19 balls, Jacinta 14 off 14 balls, Rautpuii 12 off 14 balls, Rindiki 11 off 24 balls and Sen I 10 off 17 balls scored double digit scores for Mizoram today in the first innings that saw Tongbram Bandana (1/15), Thoithoibi (1/8), Barkatun (1/22) and Thokchom Alice (1/4) sharing a wicket apiece.
In reply, Taniya Ningthoujam clobbered 2 fours and 1 six to contribute a significant 30-ball 31 before Moirangthem Creety 16 not out off 36 balls and Thokchom Alice 2 not out off 3 balls guided Manipur to the target.
Branda was the pick of Mizoram bowlers securing three wickets (3/15) including Taniya and opener S Kebriya (10 off 17 balls). L Prena also scored 10 runs for Manipur.
Manipur will play Sikkim in the next match on October 31 at the same venue.
