2nd Non-State Badminton Tournament underway Sports offer many invaluable life lessons : Nishikant

IMPHAL, Oct 5 : Life is a pressure game and sports can offer a wide range of life lessons on how to deal with it calmly and tactfully, said Keishamthong AC MLA Nishikant Singh Sapam.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of the 2nd Non-State Badminton Tournament 2025 organised by the Badminton Committee of Yaipha Lamjing Lup at the badminton court of Pishum Ningom Leirak.
Nishikant said badminton, which is one of the most popular sports events, is one of the high endurance racket sports and demands lots of stamina.
Badminton, like any other games and sports, also helps build a strong character if one pursues it with strict adherence to discipline, consistency and commitment, he said.
Life itself is a pressure game and one who loves and endorses sports will find it easy to handle pressure and make the best of the decision in his or her life, he said.
He also underlined the importance of encouraging both education and sports for holistic development of physical, mental and social wellbeing. While encouraging the non-State players to keep up the good work, the MLA also expressed happiness on how well and clean the badminton court was maintained.
Oinam Chaoba, president Yaipha Lamjing Lup; Robertson Asem, Director Sericulture; Bobby Singh Moirangthem, Finance Controller Samagra Siksha; Laitonjam Ronel; Assistant Director, Department of Telecommunications and Oinam Romeo, Corporator Ward No. 13 of Keishamthong AC also attended the inaugural function as presidium members.
The tournament will conclude on November 16.
