IEDs detonated

IMPHAL, Oct 6: Assam Rifles recovered and detonated two IEDs weighing 12 Kg each at Jiribam yesterday.
The IEDs were recovered from Ahmedabad village, Jiribam by the 38th Assam Rifles and a bomb disposal squad during an operation carried out following specific inputs about presence of IEDs between Nungkhal and Ahmedabad village.
At the hillocks of Ahmedabad village, the AR recovered 2 IEDs of 12 Kg each, 3 IED electric power sources of 500 grams each and 12 metre cordex.
Due to the sensitiveness of the explosive, the recovered IEDs were demolished on the spot using service charges. Subsequently, the control soil before explosion and after explosion including splinters were collected from the spot for further reference, said the AR.
