IMPHAL, Oct 7 :  CLP leader and former Chief Minister Okram Ibobi has expressed deep concern that BJP’s acts of dictatorship and communal politics are posing serious threats to the integrity of India.
As a part of AICC’s ongoing signature campaign on “Vote Chor, Gaddi Chor”, Ibobi launched the same signature campaign at the residence of Kshetrigao AC ex-MLA Md Amin Shah  at Kshetri Bengoon Awang Leikai today.
Speaking at the gathering, Ibobi said that the Vote Chor, Gaddi Chor signature campaign was launched on September 15 and it will continue till October 15.
He said that the campaign will cover all the 60 Assembly segments of Manipur.
Ibobi said that BJP’s communal politics has created deep fault lines among different communities across the country.
The BJP Government’s dictatorial attitude may one day  destroy the integrity of India and the country may witness deep communal polarisation, he said.
He said the Congress party believes firmly in secularism and strongly condemns BJP’s communal politics.
It is strange that the BJP MLAs who were elected by the people of Manipur are prostrating at the feet of Delhi, begging for formation of a popular Government. This is a matter of utter shame, Ibobi remarked.
Manipur is not a land of Meiteis alone. It is the responsibility of the ruling party to bring all communities together and restore peace in the State, the former Chief Minister said.
BJP is enjoying majority in the State and they need not seek permission from Delhi to form a popular Government.
Saying that some BJP Central leaders have been treating the elected representatives of Manipur with utmost disrespect, the CLP  leader asked how long the BJP MLAs will lay at the feet of those arrogant Central leaders.
It is a big question that the BJP MLAs of Manipur are still unable to resign from being Members of Manipur Legislative Assembly when the arrogance of BJP Central leaders has crossed all limits, he said.
He alleged that the BJP has been using the Election Commission as a weapon.
Khundrakpam AC MLA Th Lokeshwar said that BJP won elections in different States of India, not on genuine votes but because of votes created out of their own pockets.
It was against this act of stealing votes that the AICC launched the campaign on “Vote Chod, Gaddi Chod”, he said.
Ex-MLA Md Amin Shah said that the incumbent MLA of Kshetrigao AC is busy with the world vision but he has no vision for either Kshetrigao AC or Manipur.
Saying that the incumbent MLA has been depriving the people of their entitled shares of different welfare schemes, Md Amin Shah informed that the Congress party, in the interest of the people, has filed an RTI application against the incumbent MLA.
Ex-Minister N Loken, ex-MLA Fajur Rahim and MPCC general secretary Amir Hussain were also present at the event, among others.
