IMPHAl, Oct 7 : Security forces recovered a 9-foot-long country made rocket from the area between S Lonphai and Tuikong villages in Churachandpur district yesterday.
According to a police bulletin, the rocket contained explosives and a detonator, weighing 200 kg.
Notably, in September last year, Kuki militants launched a rocket attack in Bishnupur, killing an elderly person and injuring five others.
The attack targeted the residence of the late Mairembam Koireng, the first elected Chief Minister of Manipur, at Moirang Mairembam Leikai.
Meanwhile, police arrested two individuals along with 26.40 Kg of ganja from Awang Sekmai area under Sekmai police station in Imphal West.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Ramjan Ahmed Laskar (26) of Dakshin Kachudaram village in Cachar district, Assam and Mirishing Lunghaar (38) of Teinem village in Ukhrul district.
Police also arrested two cadres of KCP (PWG) and RPF/PLA and issued 30 challans to motor vehicle offenders, collecting Rs 56,000 in fines today.
