Sanatomba’s hattrick propels Manipur into Sub-Junior Boys’ National Football C’ship semis

IMPHAL, Oct 31 : Manipur lads have qualified for the Sub-Junior Boys’ National Football Championship 2025-26 as they edged past Mizoram by 3-2 goals in the decisive Group A match at Mount Litera Zee School ground this morning.
Having registered a comprehensive 10-0 win against Bihar and a 6-0 win against Odisha, Manipur rode on a hat-trick from Thinbaijam Sanatomba (8’, 48’, 66’) to seal the hardfought win against close rivals Mizoram.
Gideon Lalrinchhanna (90’) and Jacob Malsawmsanga (90+3’) scored for Mizoram but it was too late for them to level the margin and finish on top of the group table.
Manipur will play Group C winners West Bengal in a semi-final match on November 4.
