IMPHAL, Nov 9 : Manipur Jeet Kune-Do players shone at the World Youth Games that was held from November 5 to 8 in Pattaya City, Thailand as they won 4 gold and 1 silver medal for India.
All the five athletes from Manipur displayed remarkable skill, discipline and sportsmanship throughout the competition to secure a medal apiece and to bring great honour to the State and the Nation.
Chungkham Ningthem (+19 yrs Men's 50-55 kg), Samom Kenedy (+19 yrs Men's 55-60 kg), Laishram Dinesh (+19 yrs Men's 60-65 kg), Tomcruise Laishram (+19 yrs Men's 65-70 kg) were second to none at the event as Naorem Rani (+19 yrs women's 55-60 kg) settled for the silver medal.
Dr Moirangthem Ibomcha, team coach of the National team, accompanied and guided the athletes throughout the championship, Jeet Kune-Do Association of Manipur (JKAM) said in a press release.
Expressing pride over their achievements, JKAM also congratulated all the medallists and the coach.
