Naga MLAs for inclusive Govt with representation of Kuki-Zos Santosh, Patra interact with Kuki-Zo MLAs

IMPHAL, Nov 13 : BJP National general secretary (organisation) BL Santosh and North East coordinator Dr Sambit Patra met Kuki-Zo MLAs of the party in Churachandpur district today.
The BJP leaders also visited Maram village in Senapati district, where they interacted with the district party president, office-bearers and Naga intellectuals to promote peace in Manipur and strengthen the party.
BL Santosh and Sambit Patra flew to Churachandpur in a helicopter from Imphal around 9.30 am today.
Upon reaching, they held a closed-door meeting with the Kuki-Zo MLAs, gathering inputs on forming a popular Government and advancing peace efforts.
There are 10 Kuki-Zo MLAs in the State assembly, including seven from the BJP. All of them have so far kept themselves distant from any talks on Government formation.
Later, the BJP leaders also interacted with non-BJP Kuki MLAs and representatives of the Kuki-Zo Council and Zomi Council, with discussions centred on advancing peace efforts.
They also held a meeting with the district party president and office-bearers to strengthen the party.
In Churachandpur, BL Santosh and Sambit Patra also interacted with internally displaced people (IDPs) at Sadbhavana Mandap Relief Camp.
The BJP leaders returned to Imphal around 12 noon and proceeded by road to Senapati District Headquarters.
At Senapati, they met Naga village leaders, intellectuals, the district party president and office-bearers, and held discussions to resolve the crisis in Manipur.
The Naga MLAs batted for an inclusive Government, with representation from the Kuki-Zo community.
The BJP leaders returned to Imphal from Senapati around 5 pm and visited the relief camp at Lamboikhongnangkhing, where they met IDPs.
BL Santosh and Sambit Patra also interacted with representatives of IDPs from Moreh and Churachandpur.
During the meeting, the IDPs highlighted the problems they faced and urged the BJP leaders to facilitate their resettlement.
The BJP leaders assured the IDPs that they will work to address the problems faced by them and provide all possible assistance from the Government.
Sambit Patra also assured the IDPs that they will be resettled before the next monsoon season.
Later in the evening, the BJP leaders met members of the RSS at the RSS Manipur office near Imphal Airport and held discussions on the formation of a popular Government and on peace.
