NSU overwhelm Youth Club 102-78 in State Senior Men’s Basketball Championship

IMPHAL, Nov 14 : NSU notched up a comfortable 102-78 win over Youth Club this morning in a Group B match of the 25th State Senior Men’s Basketball Championship being underway at Brahmapur Nahabam Basketball Court.
Vishal Kumar and KT Benedict starred in the match as the duo forged 87 points together as Wormathing and Akash Tudu contributed another 15 points to earn the huge win.
Vishal Kumar produced a stellar performance to add the highest 47 points for the team across the four periods including 9 treys while KT Benedict scored 40 points including 3 maximums.
Wormathing meanwhile scored 8 points across three quarters as Akash Tudu added 7 points in two quarters.
Billgates on the other hand topped for Youth Club adding 16 highest points for the team including a triple in the second period while Taibanganba added 14 points including a triple in the third period.
Wilson (13 points), Lanchenba (10 points), and RK Bishwanath (10 points) also managed double digit scores for the team as Viveka added 9 points and Devraj added 6 points.
In another Group B match of the day, Zommei Sereo scored 7 triples on the way to his 24 point finish and guided Wilders Club to a 44-27 win over YOSC, Khurai.
Mathun Wungleng meanwhile 9 points on the back of a triple as M Kasonunghung (6 pts), Wungshung Jajo (3 pts) and Wungsungmi (2 pts) gathered 11 points.
Ronald meanwhile topped the scoring for YOSC on 10 points as Khwairakpam added 6 points on the back of two triples. Asif (5 pts), Vishal (4 pts), and Erickson (2 pts) also found their names on the scoresheet.
