Harmony Football Tournament 2025 underway in Pukhao

IMPHAL, Nov 15
133 Bn CRPF today launched a football tournament titled- Harmony Football Tournament 2025 at  Pukhao Ahallup Golden Star club complex under the aegis of the Inspector General, Manipur & Nagaland Sector CRPF.
The tournament was formally inaugurated today by DIG (Ops) Range, Kohima, in the presence of Deepak Kumar Singh, Commandant 133 Bn, along with other officers of the battalion, officials of SAI, local village heads, other dignitaries, players, and enthusiastic spectators.
The inaugural function was also marked by cultural programmes and a  thrilling martial arts demonstration by the local youths, said a press note issued by 133 Bn CRPF.
 DIG (Ops) Range Kohima, encouraged all participating teams to uphold the true spirit of sportsmanship during his speech, it said.
He also highlighted the role of sports in building teamwork, fitness, and harmony among communities and appreciated the joint efforts of CRPF personnel and local organisers in conducting the event.
The tournament aims to foster unity, promote sports among the youth, and strengthen the bond between CRPF and local communities, it said.
 A total of 8 U-17 boys teams are participating in this year's edition of the tournament organised on the knock out basis. In the opening match of the tournament, Khuman Nongdam FC defeated Khuman FC by 1-0 in a closely contested game, setting an energetic tone for the three-day tournament, it added.
