One UG cadre arrested, arms and ammunition seized

IMPHAL, Nov 16: A joint team of Manipur Police, CRPF and AR arrested a self-styled Major of RPF/PLA  who was involved in the 2017 ambush on 4 AR in Sajik Tampak, said the police today.
The wanted insurgent arrested has been identified as Koijam Ibochouba alias Inao alias Sumo alias Pansareng (45) of Yairipok Malom Mamang Leikai.
He was staying at Kwakeithel Laishram Leikai.
He was arrested from a rented house located at Sagolband Nepra Menjor Leikai under Imphal police station, Imphal West district today said the police.
From his disclosure, the security forces have recovered a large number of arms and ammunition, kept buried inside a plastic drum at a farm at Kharungpat, Kakching district, said the police.
The items recovered include one M16 Rifle, eight SLR Rifles, one .303 LMG, two .303 Rifles, one hundred and ninety Amogh carbine ammunition, thirty SLR ammunition, thirty-two SLR magazines, one detonator, four 7.62 LMG magazines, three .303 magazines, six .303 LMG magazines, three M16 magazines, four INSAS magazines, three 2" Mortars, two IEDs, two electric circuits, one spirit drum and one mobile phone with a SIM card.
