Bird traps seized

Kakching, Nov 15: Kakching Forest Range staff recovered multiple bird traps during a drive conducted in the vicinity of Lousi Pat early this morning.
The team was led by Sundar Huidrom, Range Officer, Kakching Forest Range, Pallel Beat Officer Nameirakpam Bikramjit and Forester H Sanamatum under the supervision of Thoubal Forest Division DFO Dr Leishangthem Jeeceelee.
Forester H Sanamatum said that frequent drives are being carried out in view of the migratory season.
He termed it unfortunate that the Forest Department always recovers bird traps every time they launch a drive. As such, he made an appeal to all to stop laying bird traps.
