Cultural Gala showcases unity, heritage, youth talent

KANGPOKPI, Nov 15: MBC Higher Secondary School, Kangpokpi hosted a two-day Cultural Gala 2025 showcasing unity, heritage and young talent in Kangpokpi district.
The closing event featured James Doujapao Haokip, CEO, Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council, Kangpokpi as the chief guest; Zoshi Lamkhohat Haokip, ZEO Kangpokpi, as guest of honour, and Hemminthang Kipgen, OC Kangpokpi Police Station, as the special guest.
The programme opened with an invocation by Helen Dimngel, followed by a keynote address from Dr Ngamkhohao Haokip, Principal of MBC Higher Secondary School.
Bir Pradhan, Vice Principal, delivered a presentation, while students from the boarding section electrified the stage with a powerful cultural fusion performance.
A compelling cultural narration by Thongsei, staff of MBCHSS, added depth and traditional value to the event.
The first session featured traditional showcases- folk songs in Maram, Nepali, and Thadou, traditional show and a special number.
The second session led by the Social Science Club of the school was vibrant with contemporary and cultural displays.
The final session opened with a dynamic performance by the MBCHSS Boyband.
Key highlights included Mr & Ms MBCHSS, Nepali, Naga, and Thadou traditional dances and a star segment performance by Rimmy Khongsai.
The event was graced by parents, guardians, Kangpokpi Youth Union, KTC Mission Compound, Manipur Theological College, Kangpokpi Christian Hospital, KCH Nursing School, Zillai Kangpokpi District, student organisations, youth associations, village authorities, civil society groups, and church leaders.
