Kha-Manipur College crowned champions of MU Inter College Men’s Football Tournament

IMPHAL, Nov 16 : Kha-Manipur College sealed the title of the Ayekpam Pratap Singh Memorial Manipur University Inter College Men’s Football Tournament hosted by Pole Star College, Hiyanglam-Wabagai.

Kha-Manipur College , Kakching notched up a commanding 4-0 victory against Thambalmarik College, Oinam in the one sided final match staged this afternoon at SWC Keirak Awang Leikai Kangjeibung.

The two sides started cautiously and entered into the break goalless until N Arnold ended the goal drought in the 41st minute and put Kha-Manipur College ahead.

M Debaraj doubled the advantage after 65 minutes and there was no looking back for the Kakching based college as S Leishemba made it 3-0 after 70 minutes before Th Tomba rounded off the scoring in the 78th minute.

The closing function of the 30-team tournament organised under the auspices of Manipur University Sports Committee was attended by Ch Pradeep, Assistant Director of Sports, MU as chief guest; Kshetrimayum Ibobi, vice president AMFA as guest of honour; Dr Elangbam Gopal, Principal of Pole Star College as functional president, who also led in distributing prizes to the participants.
