Bpr Super Divn Football League KPFC play out 2-2 draw with OSA to finish third

IMPHAL, Nov 16 : KPFC, Kha-Potsangbam had to settle for the third place in the 4th Thokchom Ibopishak Singh Memorial Super Division Football League as their hopes of securing the runners up spot was dashed with Salam Bidyasagar conceding an own goal.

In the final league match of the 6-team tournament organised by the District Sports Association Bishnupur at Mini Stadium, KPFC and OSA, Oinam entered into the break goalless until Bidyasagar conceded an own goal in the 62nd minute to hand OSA the lead.

OSA capitalised on the momentum to double the advantage through Maisnam Dhana in the 66th minute but Gurumayum Gajendra scored in the 77th minute to half the deficit for the Kha-Potsangbam side.

OSA almost walked away 2-1 winners but Bidyasagar redeemed himself by scoring the equaliser three minutes into the stoppage time (90+3’).

With the draw, KPFC finished third on the same 8 points behind RFCC, Keinou who enjoyed better goal count.

Earlier in the day, UKCCL, Oinam beat NCYWO 1-0 riding on Ahongshangbam Dineshor’s 73rd minute strike for the second win in 5 matches that also include a drawn match.

With the result, UKCCL finished fourth in the team standings above NCYWO and OSA.

Notably, TYDA, Toubul had secured the league title following the 3-1 thrashing of RFCC for the fourth win in the previous match.
