Manipur Day was celebrated this evening at the 44th India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025 at Amphitheatre-1, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
The celebration was graced by Anurag Bajpai, Additional Chief Secretary (Textiles, Commerce & Industry) as the chief guest.
Yumnam Robita, Director (Trade, Commerce & Industries), attended the celebration as the president while Major Pawan Kumar Thapliyal, Senior Head – Defence, DHL Logistics Pvt Ltd was present as the guest of honour.
Addressing the gathering, Anurag Bajpai expressed delight at the impressive turnout, (noting that the presence of diverse participants reflects a collective commitment to supporting enterprise growth and strengthening Manipur’s integration into National and global value chains.
He mentioned that the State’s participation in the ongoing trade fair received an enthusiastic response today, with a large number of exhibitors, buyers and visitors coming together to explore new avenues of collaboration and market expansion.
The chief guest further conveyed heartfelt appreciation to all exhibitors, buyers, organizers, and the public for their enthusiastic participation, stating that their involvement has made Manipur’s presence at the fair both meaningful and memorable,
Reaffirming the State’s dedication to fostering economic growth, investment and shared prosperity, he called for continued collaboration among all stakeholders.
Yumnam Robita thanked the audience for their support to the State of Manipur and for their enthusiasm in celebrating its rich heritage.
As a part of the day’s events, visitors were treated to a series of cultural performances by Laaman Thang-Ta and DDMRU, Imphal that showcased the vibrant spirit and rich traditions of Manipur. A special fashion show by Sailex also captivated audiences, featuring the elegance of Manipuri handlooms and textiles crafted by the State’s skilled weavers.
