Awareness programme highlights rights of parents and senior citizens

CHANDEL, Nov 18: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Chandel, in collaboration with Numei SHG Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited (NUSMUCOS Ltd), conducted an awareness programme on the "Maintenance and Welfare of Parents & Senior Citizens (MWPSC) Act, 2007" at CMTC, NUSMUSCOS, Island Village, Tengnoupal district. The programme began with a welcome address by Tonarthang Marem, vice president of NUSMUCOS Ltd, followed by an opening prayer led by Chongom Ringneikip, Joint Secretary of NUSMUCOS Ltd. Ch Daring, Internal Mentor, moderated the session.
During the programme, Advocate Jacky Lucy elaborated on the provisions of the MWPSC Act, 2007, highlighting the entitlements of senior citizens and parents-particularly their right to food, clothing, residence, and medical care.
