NYC egde out FCN on penalties to reach semis

IMPHAL, Nov 1 : NYC, Namthanlong edged FCN, Neikanlong by 3-1 goals on penalties after a 1-1 regulation time draw to reach the semi-finals of the ongoing 14th Jadonang Memorial Football Tournament 2025 at SAI Takyel Grass Ground.
NYC and FCN started cautiously and were locked at 0-0 till halftime before Gaingamlung Rongmei broke the deadlock in the 67th minute to earn NYC the lead.
The lead did not last long as Leishising Tallanao scored the equaliser for FCN in the 72nd minute.
As the two sides remained separated till the end of normal time, the game was decided via penalty shoot-out wherein Konan Panmei, Mezibui, and Raheu scored it for NYC against one scored for FCN by Rathailung Kamei.
NYC, Namdilong will play SYC, Satudai in the final quarterfinal match tomorrow.
