JABALPUR, Nov 1
Reiterating that Manipur is limping back to normalcy, RSS general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale has said that the Government there should be “reinstated", emphasising that the people of the State themselves want normal governance to resume.
Speaking about the situation, he said peace and order can be restored only when the Government, society, and the Sangh work together.
Praising the efforts taken by the Central Government and the Prime Minister himself by visiting the State, he said that it would be the Centre’s call to decide when to reinstate the Government. Hosabale was addressing the media after RSS’s three-day annual meeting in Jabalpur.
Hosabale described Manipur as a crucial State in India’s North East and also a sensitive border region where the Nation’s unity and security are deeply interconnected.
He noted that the Sangh volunteers have been consistently engaged in relief and peace-building activities in the State for nearly two years.
Sangh functionaries, he said, have been working quietly at the ground level to bridge gaps between communities and to re-establish communication and trust.
He also acknowledged that the Government has made serious efforts to bring the situation under control and appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Manipur, calling it a gesture that underlined the Centre’s commitment to restoring stability.
“The Government should be reinstated, and normal functioning should resume. The people themselves are in favour of it. But it is the Centre’s call to decide on the time," he said.
Hosabale highlighted that the Sangh’s role in Manipur has been one of service and reconciliation. Its karyakartas have focused on rebuilding local confidence, extending humanitarian support, and encouraging dialogue among all sections of society. He said that the process of healing and rebuilding peace requires patience and cooperation from every section, including administrative, social, and cultural.
He reiterated that peace cannot be achieved through administrative measures alone.
Sustainable peace, he said, depends on the collective efforts of the people, the Government, and voluntary organisations that understand the local realities. “Government, Sangh and society must work together for lasting peace," he said.
Hosabale maintained a positive outlook on the state’s progress, saying that Manipur is gradually moving towards normalcy and that such efforts should be strengthened further. The emphasis, he added, should remain on restoring faith in democratic institutions and ensuring that citizens feel represented and secure. News18
