Imp-Tezu-Ghy air route offers cheaper option

IMPHAL, Nov 19:  If you are planning a visit to Guwahati and searching for a cheap flight, then the Imphal-Tezu-Guwahati route is a good option.
To reach Guwahati via this route, you will spend under Rs 5000, which is significantly cheaper than the Imphal-Guwahati route which usually costs more than Rs 13,000.
If luck favours, you may spend only Rs 1500 to reach Guwahati. Rs 500 for Imphal-Tezu and Rs 1,000 for Tezu-Guwahati.
This alternate route is best if you have time and want to explore Tezu and other tourist destinations in Arunachal Pradesh.
The route is operated under UDAN-RCS, which is a flagship programme launched by the Government of India's Ministry of Civil Aviation to improve air connectivity in smaller cities and make air travel more affordable for the common citizen.
State-run carrier Alliance Air operates on this route and it offers 50 percent of the seats at a special rebate fair.
The Imphal-Tezu flights operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Tezu is a town in the Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The town is known for its scenic beauty and as a centre for adventure activities like trekking and river rafting.
Tezu is also a significant religious site due to its proximity to Parashuram Kund.
The Parashuram Kund is a major religious site located on the Lohit River. A large fair takes place here every January.
Now, about the flight fare, the price for Imphal-Tezu on November 20 (Thursday) is Rs 1,200 [when checked at around 8 pm of November 19].
On November 22 (Saturday), the fare is Rs 3,416.
It may be noted here that the flight fare for Imphal-Tezu usually stays below Rs 4,000 and it often falls to just Rs 500.
From Tezu airport, the flight fare to Guwahati is around Rs 1,000 only.
