Parking lots marked for Sangai Fest

IMPHAL, Nov 20: Andro Parking, WAL Club Wangkhei Angom Leikai, Wangkhei Keithel Ashangbi, Ningthem Pukhri Mapal, Wangkhei Thangapat, Checkon to Nongpok Thong, Ananda Singh Academy crossing to Checkon crossing, Raja Dumbra School (RDS), Wangkhei Girls’ High School and OLA Lampak Kongba crossing have been designated as public parking spaces for the events of Manipur Sangai Festival 2025 scheduled at Hapta Kangjeibung/Boat.
For VVIPs/VIPs/security and media, parking spaces have been allotted at CC Higher Secondary School, western lane of Hapta Kangjeibung, MB College and the lawn near Shree Shree Govindajee Temple (contingency), according to a notification issued by Transport Director Khumanthem Diana.
For events scheduled at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, the ground opposite to Indoor Stadium has been designated as a public parking space.
For events scheduled at Kangla Kangjeibung and Mapan Kangjeibung (Polo Ground), the roadside between the western side of Johnstone School and BT Park, roadside of Old Assembly Road and Family Welfare and designated parking spaces in and around the venues have been allotted as parking lots.
For VVIPs/VIPs/security and media, parking spaces have been allotted in front of Kangla Uttra, helipad and the western side of the main gallery.
There shall be dedicated ferry service (e-rickshaw) starting from the western side of Johnstone Parking (BT Park) from 11 am to 9 pm daily for every 15 minutes to Hapta Kangjeibung and Khuman Lampak, and the fare will be Rs 20 per passenger per trip, according to the notification.
It said that there shall be free shuttle services at Hapta Kangjeibung and Khuman Lampak. Heavy commercial vehicles coming from NH-2 (Mao side) and NH-37 (Jiribam side) destined for Imphal city shall not be allowed to enter the city between 7 am and 10 pm.
Such vehicles shall park or halt beyond Sekmai police station (for NH-2 side) and Keithelmanbi (for NH-37 side), it said.
Other heavy vehicles will be diverted at Singjamei bridge/Chinga crossing, Moirangkhom traffic point, Lamlong junction, Khongnang Ani Karak, Minuthong traffic point, Tera Bazar and Kwakeithel.
No commercial vehicles will be allowed to cross Sanjenthong Bridge. They shall take Minuthong/Lamlong Bridge to go from Imphal West to Imphal East and vice versa, it added.
