Advisory issued

IMPHAL, Nov 20 : The Directorate of Health Services has issued an advisory directing all food stall owners/food business operators including retailers, hawkers etc participating in the Manipur Sangai Festival to mandatorily obtain Food Safety Registration for their respective stalls under the provisions of the Food Safety and issued Standards Act, 2006. The notification issued Dr N Hemantakumar Singh, Director, Health Services has informed all food business operators to apply for registration at the Food Safety Facilitation Counter opened at Stall No 15 within the festival venue, prior to commencement of any food sale or service.
The documents required are- passport photo, self-attested copy of Aadhaar card, Pan card and medical fitness certificate of food handlers.
It has urged all stall owners to strictly adhere to the prescribed Food Safety and Hygiene Guidelines while adding that non-compliance with the instructions in the advisory will invite action under Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
