MU women emerge basketball champions, men's team lose title to KP College

IMPHAL, Nov 20: While Manipur University women team emerged champions of the MU Inter College Basketball Tournament, the men's team lost the title to KP College today.
In the women's final match today, Manipur University beat MIT 23-10 to emerge as the champions.
In the men's final, KP College defeated Manipur University 66-45 to win the title.
Women's semifinals
The Manipur University women's team entered the final after beating Thoubal College 22-11.
The MIT women team defeated Liberal College 12-4 to enter the final.
Women's final
MU defeated MIT 23-10.
The MU women's team was leading over MIT 5-3 in the 1st quarter.
In the end quarter, MU led MIT 10-0.
The MIT team led the 3rd quarter 3-2, however, they suffered a 4-6 setback in the 4th quarter, handing MU a total of 23 points while they amassed only 10.
Men's semifinals
In the first semifinal match, Manipur University beat MIT 35-31 to enter the final.
In the second semifinal match, KP College defeated NG College 71-56 to set up the final clash against MU.
Men's final
KP College defeated MU 66-45.
The final match witnessed KP College leading the score 20-11 in the first quarter.
KP College maintained the momentum and led the 2nd quarter 29-6 over MU.
The 3rd and 4th quarter saw MU coming back and leading 10-4, 18-13 over KP College, but it proved too little too late for them to turn the tide.
