169 Bn CRPF organises volleyball tourney at Chanung

169 Bn CRPF today kickstarted a volleyball tournament under the Khelo India Programme at the Chanung playground under Sagolmang Police Station in Imphal East.
The event was inaugurated by RK Dayananda, MCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Imphal East as chief guest, said 169 Bn in a press release.
A total of 16 teams from within the jurisdiction of Sagolmang PS are participating in the tournament held with the aims to promote sportsmanship, community engagement, and youth development, strengthening the bond between the security forces and the local populace.
The tournament will culminate on November 25, it said.
Speaking at the inauguration programme, the chief guest appreciated the efforts of 169 Bn, CRPF, in organising youth-oriented programmes under civic action and National sports initiatives. He highlighted the importance of sports in fostering discipline, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle among young people, it said.
Suresh Kumar, Commandant, 169 Bn, CRPF expressed gratitude to the district administration, local community, volunteers, and participants for their active support. He also reaffirmed CRPF’s commitment to conducting constructive and socially meaningful programmes to enhance cooperation and goodwill in the region, it said.
Senior officers and other local dignitaries were also present and extended their best wishes to all participating teams. The tournament will continue with enthusiastic participation from all competing teams, reflecting the spirit of unity and healthy competition envisioned under the Khelo India Programme.
