Former CM meets Bhalla

IMPHAL, Nov 23 : Former Chief Minister N Biren Singh held a closed door meeting with Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla at Raj Bhavan today.
According to reliable sources, the former Chief Minister was summoned by the Governor.
The meeting began around 1 pm and lasted for about an hour.
Though the exact details of the discussion remain unknown, sources indicated that the talks primarily focused on the controversies surrounding the ongoing Sangai Festival and possible measures to resolve the issues.
Notably, the Sangai Festival, which commenced on November 21 after a two-year hiatus, has been marred by widespread protests.
Internally displaced persons (IDPs) and several organisations have boycotted the event, terming its organisation insensitive amid the prevailing crisis in the state.
The IDPs and the organisations have been demanding the cancellation of the festival, urging the Govt to instead prioritise resolution of the ongoing ethnic conflict, restoration of free movement along highways, and speedy rehabilitation of displaced people.
