Langthabal FC overcome FLAM 3-2, VSAI thump VFC 2-0

IMPHAL, Nov 24 : Langthabal FC overcame FLAM, Yaiskul 3-2 as VSAI, Thangmeiband thumped VFC, Kakwa in today’s matches of the ongoing 5th Dr Moirangthem Manaoton Singh and M Chandrasakhi Memorial Masters’ Football Championship-2025.
In the Group B opening match, O Tomba scored a brace (21’, 30+2’) to earn Langthabal FC a 2-0 first half lead before S Rohen pulled back a goal in the 35th minute.
Langthabal FC retained the 2-goal lead courtesy of Ch Prakash in the 41st minute before S Rohen converted a penalty for FLAM 2 minutes into the stoppage time (60+2’). FLAM’s comeback hope was however ruled out as there was not much time left to play and eventually Langthabal FC walked home 3-2.
Earlier in the Group A opener, N Imocha opened the lead for VSAI in the 7th minute before Ph Pancham of VFC conceded an own goal to hand VSAI the 2-0 win.
UVSA, Chajing will play Sangai FC in a Group C match from 12.15 pm before TRVSA, Malom take on KLYGC in a Group A match from 2 pm.
As many as 12 teams clubbed into 3 groups are taking part in the tournament hosted by Sunday FC at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.
