Manipur Chess Assn names State squad for 23rd NE Chess C’ship

IMPHAL, Nov 24 : The Manipur Chess Association has named the State squad for the 23rd North East Chess Championship to be hosted by Mizoram from December 16 to 20.
A selection tournament in connection with the championship was held from November 21 to 23 at Uripok Khoisnam Leikai and top 15 players from among 35 players were selected in the State squad.
In the 5-round selection tournament, Elangbam Shashikanta (4.5 pts), Moirangthem Sanjit ( 4 pts), and Noaremcha Yoihenba (4 pts) made the top three finish followed by Konjengbam Poireikhomba (3.5 pts), H Jogendro (3.5 pts), Moirangthem Modhusudon (3.5 pts), Th Nabachandra (3.5 pts), Irom Bit (3.5 pts), Chabungbam Dinesh (3.5 pts), Elangbam Prichard (3 pts), Elangbam Mangal (3 pts), Gurumayum Arosemith Sharma (3 pts), Sougaijam Lemba (3 pts), Thoudam Dayanand (3 pts), and H Ranjan (3 pts).
