Veteran Cricket: Risk star as YUCC script 67-run victory against YCC

IMPHAL, Nov 24 : YUCC, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel registered a comprehensive 67-run victory against YCC, Wangkhei in the second match of the 22nd Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament being hosted by the Manipur Veteran Cricket at Langthabal Public Ground.
YUCC won the toss and raised a respectable total of 165 runs for 9 wickets in the allotted 30 overs and bowled out YCC for 98 runs within 20.1 overs to open their winning account in the Group A league competition.
Risk topscored for YUCC scoring 35 runs off 27 balls followed by Sunil 25 and Doren 21 not out in the first innings that saw Winkan (2/16), Everest (2/21) and Itomba (2/28) sharing 6 wickets for YCC.
In reply, Loya 27 off 41 and Pritam 25 off 28 emerged the top run getters for YCC as Nishi enjoyed a four wicket haul (4/22 in 5.1 overs) and Risk picked two wickets (2/10 in 2 overs) to set up the YCC collapse at 98. Raju (1/25) and Bidison (1/19) were also among the wickets for YUCC.
Risk who shone with both the bat and ball was adjudged player of the match.
TCMDC, Thongju will play YAC, Yaiskul in the Group C opening match tomorrow at the same venue.
