Cooch Behar Trophy Y Chingkhei Nganba picks 6 to dismantle Meghalaya for 133 runs in first innings

IMPHAL, Nov 24 : Yumnam Chingkhei Nganba enjoyed a six-for to help Manipur dismiss Meghalaya for a first innings total of 133 runs and earn a 174-run lead in their second tie of the Cooch Behar Trophy Plate Group at Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, Anand.
Manipur, having posted 307 runs in 82 overs after electing to bat first, were quick to apply pressure on Meghalaya who resumed the day on 24/2 as Danish undone RS Rathor on 11 for the third wicket in the 1st delivery of the 7th over.
Yumnam Chingkhei Nganba then swept the following four wickets in quick succession to reduce Meghalaya to 106/7 within 28.1 overs before Naesh joined the fray to remove AK Lohar for the 8th wicket.
Chingkhei Nganba returned to action to dismiss M Kharpuri for the 9th wicket as the scoreboard read 128 before he caught and bowled Meghalaya’s highest run getter D Nandi on 43 to complete his 6-wicket haul (6/36 in 8.2 overs) and bring Meghalaya innings to a close within 34.2 overs.
Manipur were 192/9 after 59 overs at stumps to take a 366-run lead against Meghalaya with Yumnam Chingkheinganba 12 off 69 and Kaiku 47 off 61 batting after a stuttering start to the second innings.
For Meghalaya, M Kharpuri has so far picked 4 wickets (4/79 in 24 overs) and RS Rathor managed two wickets (2/16 in 6 overs) in the second innings for Manipur while AK Lohar and G Narleng have claimed a wicket apiece.
