15th Manipur Polo International Colombia beat India-C 10-4 for second win, USA hold India-A

IMPHAL, Nov 25 : Colombia defeated India-C (Chhattisgarh) by 10-4 goals as USA held India-A (IPA) to a 6-6 draw in today’s matches of the 15th Manipur Polo International at Mapal Kangjeibung.
In the 6th match of the 5-team tournament hosted by the Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association, USA rode on Zackary Coleman’s treble to salvage a 6-6 draw with India-A whose Mukesh Gurjar starred with four goals.
Davin Aiden Meeker and Zackary Coleman scored a goal apiece in the opening chukker of the match that saw Mukesh scoring twice for India-A to make it 2-2.
USA’s lady rider Elizabeth Lewis Kofmehl scored four minutes into the second chukker to put her team ahead but Rabinder Mang scored the equaliser in the 6th minute to keep the scoreline on level terms till halfway mark.
India-A went ahead 5-4 in the third chukker as Rabinder and Mukesh added a goal each for the team against Zackary Coleman’s second goal.
India-A raced to a 6-4 lead with Mukesh’s 2nd minute goal but Aiden Meeker and Zackary Coleman scored a goal apiece to help USA return into the game and play out a draw.
In the 7th match, Colombia extended their 3-game unbeaten run by beating India-C 10-4 and significantly boosted their final hopes.
The first chukker went goalless before Colombia raced to a 4-0 lead riding on S Bimol’s double and a goal apiece from Pablo Serrano and Alejandro Puyana.
Bimol, Alejandro Puyana and Federico Puyana then took their turns in the third chukker to further extend their lead to 7-0 before Pablo Serrano added one and S Bimol scored twice in the final chukker to earn the 10-4 win.
For Chhattisgarh, Kh Sushillo scored thrice in the final chukker as Swarna Kumar Kangjam managed one.
It was the third successive loss for India-C and they are literally out of the race for the final berths.
