Jr Girls National Football C’ship Manipur edge Tamil Nadu 2-1 to book final berth

IMPHAL, Nov 25 : Manipur secured a 2-1 semi-final victory over Tamil Nadu to advance to the final of the ongoing Dr Talimeren Ao Junior Girls’ National Football Championship 2025-26 (Tier I) at RDT Stadium, Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh this morning.
It was a keenly contested game as Group A winners, Tamil Nadu drew level through Anwita Raghuraman in the 84th minute after Senjam Alva opened the scoring for Manipur in the 66th minute.
With the score levelled on 1-1 till the end of the regulation time, the match was stretched to extra time where in Chingkhamayum Redima scored in the 111th minute to earn the victory.
Manipur had topped the Group C table with three of three wins earlier to qualify for the semis.
Manipur had opened their league campaign with a 3-1 win over Gujarat before drubbing Chhattisgarh 4-0 and edging Karnataka 2-1 in the following matches.
