DMU students stage anti-drug rally

IMPHAL, Nov 25 : The Anti-Drug Hostel Committee, Dhanamanjuri University organized an anti-drug awareness rally this morning at 7 within the university campus.
The rally saw active participation of around 400 hostellers and Wardens of DM College of Commerce Ladies Hostel, Women’s Hostel DM College of Science, MOBC Boy’s Hostel, DM College of Commerce Boy’s Hostel, DM College of Arts Girl’s Hostel, DM College of Science Boy’s Hostel, DM College of Arts Boy’s Hostel and New Girl’s Hostel GP Women's College, as per a press note.
The event was flagged off by Professor Ksh Birbal Singh, Principal, DM College of Science and Professor Kh Rajen Singh, Principal, DM College of Commerce, in the presence of Dr K Onand Monsang, Nodal Officer, Anti-Drug Hostel Committee, DMU.
The primary objectives of the rally were to create awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse; to promote a healthy lifestyle; to promote a drug-free campus environment; to empower youth and to strengthen collective responsibilities.
Students marched with banners, placards, and chanted slogans highlighting the need to fight against drug addiction.
Overall, the rally was conducted peacefully, leaving a strong message towards building a drug- free community.
