Girl student knocked down

IMPHAL, Nov 25: A bus carrying security personnel knocked down Class XI girl student and critically injured another at Thoubal today. The bus has been detained.
The unfortunate incident occurred on Asian Highway-1 in front of Thoubal fire service station at around 2 pm.
The female student killed in the accident has been identified as Sarina Singamayum (15), daughter of Md Azimuddin of Yairipok Singa.
The other student injured has been identified as Singamayum Nasima (15), daughter of Md Zamin Khan. She also hails from Yairipok Singa.
Singamayum Nasima is in critical condition and is receiving treatment at a hospital.
Both students of Fancier Higher Secondary School Thoubal were hit by a bus carrying security personnel deployed at the Sangai festival.
The bus was travelling from Imphal towards Kakching when the accident occurred.
Thoubal police have registered a case.
The body of the deceased student has been deposited at the JNIMS Porompat mortuary for postmortem.
