3rd Governor’s Cup Boxing C’ships Laishram Shairaj boxes into Elite Men’s 65 kg semis

IMPHAL, Nov 26 : Laishram Shairaj of PKBA have boxed his way to the Elite Men’s 65 kg category semi-finals in the 3rd Governor’s Cup Boxing Championships being organised by the Manipur Amateur Boxing Association.
Laishram Shairaj sealed an RSC win against Keisham Rohitroy in a quarterfinal bout to enter the last-four round of the category today.
Earlier in the day, Chingrihor Shatshang of MKBA, Hijam Malemnganba of NBA and Thokchom Thoiba  of MBA made it to the semi-finals of the U-19 Men’s 50 kg category competition.
 Chingrihor Shatshang defeated Mutum Nikison 5-0 via unanimous decision of SAI-Utlou to earn his semi-final ticket as Hijam Malemnganba of NBA won 3-2 via split decision against UYDC’s Kayenpaibam Ryan in another quarterfinal clash.
Thoiba meanwhile registered an RSC win against Maibam Lanchenba of PBA in another quarterfinal clash.
The day also saw Lukram Lilmani of MKBA entering the semi-finals of the U-15 Boys’ 61 kg category competition as he notched up a 5-0 win via unanimous decision against Laishram Nonglenkhomba of SAI-Utlou in a quarterfinal clash.
Meanwhile in the three U-15 Boys’ 64 kg category quarterfinal clashes staged today, Thokchom Nitish of PKBA sealed an RSC win against SRBA’s Soshang A Seipainao; Oinam Shantiraj won 3-2 via split decision against Laishram Daniel of SAI-Utlou and Laimujam Beiraba of MKBA overwhelmed NBA’s Sapam Mangisana 5-0 via unanimous decision.
Meanwhile in the U-17 Boys’ 57 kg category quarterfinal clashes, Laishram Lanthoiba of MKBA sealed an RSC win in the second round against SAI-Utlou’s Maniraj Okram before SRBA’s Khangchrakpam Mangal knocked out Kh Nongsaba of PBA; NSA’s Salam Diamond had an ABD win as MBA’s Ningthoujam Pradeshi abandoned; and Sapam Robertson of SAI-Imphal overwhelmed UYDC’s Sairem Lanchenba 5-0 via unanimous decision.
The day also saw Laishram Sara edge past Yumnam Lannganbi 3-2 and Sarangthem Linthoi Chanu of SRBA overwhelmed MKBA’s Lanthing Rainam 5-0 to enter U-15 Girls’ 49 kg semis; Lairenjam Sujen of SRBA overwhelmed Maku   Phairong of MBA 5-0 to enter U-15 Girls’ 55 kg semis; and  Moirangthem Khrismira of MKBA won 4-1 against SRBA’s Lourembam Anjali to secure a semi-final ticket in the U-17 Girls’ 46 kg category competition.
