Poppy destroyed

IMPHAL, Nov 28 : Security forces destroyed  103 acres of poppy cultivation at the hill ranges of Koubru and surrounding areas in Kangpokpi yesterday, said a bulletin issued by the police control room.
It continued that 30 huts, 17 bags of fertilizer, 37 herbicides packets, 13 bags of salt and other cultivation equipment found at the plantation site were destroyed during the drive carried out together with Forest and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials.
In a similar drive, security forces destroyed six acres of poppy cultivation at the hill ranges of Ngamju under Purul police station in Senapati yesterday.
