IMPHAL, Nov 2 : With a rich haul of 6 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze medals, DTTA Imphal West finished on top of the State Open Ranking Table Tennis Tournament 2025 hosted by the Thoubal District Table Tennis Association under the aegis of the Manipur Table Tennis Association.
Hosts TDTTA meanwhile finished in second place with a haul of 3 gold, 9 silver and 10 bronze medals.
Notably, Bincy Thokchom starred for Imphal West clinching both three gold medals, by topping the U-11 girls singles and U-13 girls singles events before pairing up with compatriot S Angkita for the U-15 doubles title.
Angkita also went on to earn the U-15 and U-17 girls singles titles.
Angkita was also able to seal the women’s doubles title with Nikita Elangbam as they defeated MPSC-Tbl pair of Ch Narashini and H Senerita 11-8, 11-6, 11-7 in the final.
Purnachandra of Thoubal on the other hand led the campaign for Thoubal by securing the U-17 boys gold medal before settling for the U-19 boys singles runners up title at the championship.
Purnachandra also won another gold medal by securing a 3-1 sets win over Hemjit and Inunganba in the U-17 doubles final with L Lamjingba. Thoubal’s Ningombam Riya on the other hand claimed the U-19 girls’ singles title by defeating Kh Loyalembi 11-3, 4-11, 12-10, 11-8, 11-6 in an all-Thoubal clash.
