OSCAR, THAU emerge victorious in MNCA Plate Tournament

IMPHAL, Nov 29 : OSCAR, Paona Bazar sealed a narrow 1 wicket win over SHADOW, Thangmeiband as THAU sealed a 4-wicket win over MPA, Thounaojam in today’s matches of the ongoing 10th MNCA Plate Tournament 2025-26.
In the Group A match staged at Moijing Public Ground, OSCAR rode on a half century from Thounaojam Sanjit and bowlers to earn the narrow 1 wicket win.
SHADOW won the toss and elected to bat first. They however had a forgettable innings as they slumped to 180 all out in 31.5 overs despite a 51-ball 52 (6 fours) from A James and identical 22 runs from Bush and S Loyumba (not out).
For SHADOW, Indrajit picked three wickets (3/22) as Jawan (2/33) and L Robinson (2/49) shared four wickets and Thoudam Pradeep and Ph Deepa chipped in with a wicket apiece.
In reply, OSCAR fought their way to the target in 29.2 overs courtesy of a brilliant half century knock from Th Sanjit (52-ball 67; 12 fours and 1 six) and 55 extras conceded by SHADOW bowlers including 40 wide deliveries.
S Telheiba picked three wickets for SHADOW (3/31 in 5 overs) as five others claimed a wicket apiece.
Elsewhere at Lairenjam Public Ground, THAU chased down the target of 113 runs set by MPA with 4 wickets left to spare as Pukhrambam Hilbert scored an unbeaten 58 off 66 balls on the back of 5 fours and 1 six.
Toss winners, MPA were bundled out for 112 runs within 24.3 overs as THAU’s Khundrakpam Bidyananda enjoyed a 6 four (6/30 in 6.3 overs) and Thokchom Sushil (2/24) and Kh Romesh (2/25) shared four wickets.
Huidrom Dhanashyam 20 off 13, Y Sheiteendra 17 off 11 and Soram Naoboy 14 led the scoring for MPA before H Dhanashyam (2/38), Y Sheiteendra (1/14) and Th Chinglensana (1/24) share 4 wickets in the second innings.
