Hockey: Indian Army XI vs SEYO in men’s semi-final
IMPHAL, Nov 30: The DGAR Hockey Tournament entered a decisive phase on its seventh day at Khuman Lampak Astro Turf Stadium, Imphal, with high-octane women’s matches and the confirmation of semi-finalists in the men’s division.
Organised by Assam Rifles, the tournament continues to draw spirited participation and growing public enthusiasm, said PRO IGAR (S) in a press release.
The day opened with a commanding performance by South Youth United Club (SYUC), who outplayed United Youth Club (UYC) by 3–0 goals in a women’s match.
SYUC’s structured play and relentless attack earned them a well-deserved win and applause from the stands, it said.
The second women’s fixture between Youth Cultural and Community Improvement Centre (YCCIC) and IDEAL delivered one of the tournament’s most gripping contests. End-to-end action, swift counterattacks and resilient defence from both sides culminated in a thrilling 3–3 draw, keeping spectators on edge till the final whistle, it said.
In the men’s category, South East Youth Organisation (SEYO) set up a semi-final date with Indian Army XI.
