IMPHAL, Nov 3: Thongju AC MLA Th Biswajit has sought the intervention of Union Minister of Civil Aviation Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu to consider increasing the number of daily flights at the Bir Tikendrajit International Airport, especially on the Imphal—Guwahati route, in consultation with the concerned airlines.
Drawing the attention of the Civil Aviation Minister to the present state of limited flight operations at the Imphal Airport in a letter, he said that the total number of daily flights operating from the airport has come down to only eight, and out of these, merely two flights are servicing the Imphal—Guwahati sector.
Seeking the Civil Aviation Minister's intervention, Th Biswajit stated that enhanced frequency would greatly ease the travel difficulties of the public and ensure that air connectivity from Manipur remains affordable and accessible.
