Thangmeiband Youth Polo Club vs Assam Rifles Polo Team-A in final showdown

IMPHAL, Nov 4 : Thangmeiband Youth Polo Club (THYPC) will square off against Assam Rifles Polo Team-A (ARPT-A) in final showdown of the 38th N Hazari and Dr N Tombi State Polo Tournament at Mapal Kangjeibung.
In the first semi-final match of the 38-team tournament organised by the Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association, THPYC beat Black Watch PC, Babupara in a 9-goal thriller.
Black Watch PC had a good start and were leading 4-2 till the third chukker but S Saolin produced a stellar performance in the final chukker to hammer home 3 goals to seal the 5-4 victory for the Thangmeiband side.
Th Nongpoknganba put the Babupara team ahead in the first minute of the opening chukker but Saolin made sure that his team draw level with a last minute goal.
K Yaikhomba and Nongpoknganba then added a goal apiece in the second chukker to give Black Watch PC a 3-1 lead at halfway mark before Nongpoknganba had his third goal in the 4th minute of the third chukker.
The third chukker also saw Saolin scoring his second goal before chipping in three more goals in the final chukker and broke the hopes of the Black Watch PC fans.
Later in the second semi-final match, ARPT-A rode on S Bon Bon and M Kuber to knock out MPSC-B by 6-3 goals.
The two sides were locked at 1-1 in the first chukker with Kh Sushilo scoring in the first minute for ARPT-A before T Pradeepkumar scored in the third minute to close out the margin.
The two sides drew nil in the second chukker before S Bon Bon scored one and M Kuber added twice to hand ARPT-A a 4-2 lead.
Bon Bon scored his second and Kuber had his third in the final chukker as Pradeepkumar, who had his second in the third chukker, found his third goal to make it 3-6.
The final match is slated for November 6.
