AR distributes sports equipment in Khengjoi sub-division

In a spirited initiative to foster youth development and community engagement, Assam Rifles organized a vibrant sports equipment distribution drive in the Khengjoi Sub-Division of Chandel district.
The event, held under the Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme (ARCAP), brought together officials, troops and villagers of the border villages of Molcham, Phaisangjang, Changpol and Gamphazol for facilitating support to the sporting spirit of the youth of the region.
The program aimed to invigorate youth participation in sports, promote wellness and strengthen social bonds in these remote regions, said PRO IGAR (S) in a press release.
The distribution ceremony witnessed enthusiastic participation from village chiefs, youth leaders, school students and local residents, all united by a shared vision of progress and unity, it said.
A wide array of sports gear—including footballs, volleyballs, nets, carrom boards and uniforms—were handed over to youth clubs and village representatives, it said. These resources are set to catalyze regular training sessions, friendly matches and inter-village tournaments, paving the way for young athletes to hone their skills and showcase their talent, it continued.
