MNCA accords warm reception to L Ronel following ICC Women’s WC title triumph

The Manipur Cricket Association (MNCA) extended a warm reception to Leishangthem Ronel, secretary MNCA, on his return after serving as the Administrative Manager (Team Manager) of the Indian Women’s Cricket Team, who created history by winning the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.
It was India’s maiden title in the tournament’s history and the momentous achievement marked a new era in Indian women’s cricket, said MNCA in a press release.
MNCA takes immense pride in Leishangthem Ronel’s distinguished role and contribution to global success. His commitment, discipline, and able management were integral to the smooth functioning and success of the team throughout the World Cup campaign, culminating in India’s glorious victory on the world stage, it said.
As an administrator and leader, Leishangthem Ronel Singh’s journey embodies professionalism, composure, and an unwavering passion for the game. His representation in the Indian contingent at the World Cup not only reflects his personal excellence but also brought great honour and recognition to the Manipur Cricket Association and the entire cricketing fraternity of the State, it said.
On his return, Leishangthem Ronel Singh was accorded a grand welcome by MNCA officials, members, staff, players, and well-wishers at the Bir Tikendrajit International Airport, Imphal, celebrating the historic milestone and his contribution to the nation’s triumph.
Speaking on the occasion, Nongthombam Zico Meetei, president of MNCA, said, “This is an extraordinary moment of pride and inspiration for Manipur and for Indian cricket as a whole.”
“Ronel Singh’s involvement with the Indian Women’s Cricket Team in their maiden ICC World Cup victory stands as a testament to his commitment, leadership, and professionalism.
