NYC-Namthanlong crowned champions of 14th Jadonang Memorial Football Tournament

IMPHAL, Nov 8 : NYC, Namthanlong cruised to the title of the 14th Jadonang Memorial Football Tournament organised by the Zeliangrong Football Association as they beat SKYC, Sawombung by 6-3 goals today in the high scoring title clash at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.
NYC started slowly and took a slender 1-0 first half lead but banged home 5 more goals in the second half to seal the 6-3 win and walked away with the title trophy.
Yumnam Monis handed NYC the narrow 1-0 first half lead with a 41st minute strike before completing his brace in the 47th minute.
The scoring spree continued with Kamei Jianbilung netting the team’s third in the 51st minute before Laloureiyang scored back to back in the 56th and the 71st minute to make it 5-0.
SKYC who had been on the receiving end for a major portion of the game staged a late fightback and reduced the margin by 2 goals with Ashangbam Aphaoba scoring back to back in the 84th and the 89th minute.
Moirangthem Somokanta also scored for SKYC 5 minutes into the stoppage time but it was already late for a comeback and eventually, NYC walked home 6-3 and Rs 2,00,000 richer along with the title trophy.
SKYC on the other hand contented with a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000 along with a trophy.
