BISHNUPUR, Nov 8: In connection with the National Oral Health Programme, a mega dental camp was held today at L Dhananjoy Memorial English School, Tronglaobi.
The dental camp was organised by District Health Society Bishnupur, National Oral Health Programme and Indian Dental Association, Manipur State Branch in collaboration with Lamjing Meira Village Level Federation and with the assistance of former Zila Parishad M Birchand.
Around 300 patients were treated at the camp where 28 doctors from RIMS, JNIMS and Manipur Health Services offered their consultations assisted by AAM Tronglaobi CHO and 12 staff including Asha workers.
The camp was led by Dr B Gokulchandra Sharma, president, Indian Dental Association, Manipur State Branch; secretary Dr Deepak Ningombam and Dr Bidyapati Huyam, Senior Dental Surgeon, District Hospital Bishnupur as well as District Nodal Officer Bishnupur, National Oral Hygiene Programme.
Separately, Shija Eye Care Foundation (SECF) conducted a one-day free comprehensive eye check-up camp today at Utlou Kangjeibung in Bishnupur.
As per a press release, the camp was held in association with NPCB & VI (Manipur Chapter), Youth Social Welfare Association (YSWA)- Utlou and SECF-Nambol Vision Centre.
A total of 64 patients were screened during the camp.
Among them, 10 patients were counselled for cataract surgery, 5 for pterygium surgery and one patient was referred to the base for further evaluation.
