54 acres of poppy plantations destroyed

IMPHAL, Dec 1: Security forces destroyed 54 acres of poppy plantations in two separate operations at Kangpokpi district today, said Manipur Police.
36 acres of poppy plantation was destroyed in the hill ranges of C Lamjang and surrounding areas under Kangpokpi police station.
In the operation, security forces destroyed 11 huts, 14 bags of fertilizers, 9 bags of salts at the site.
18 acres of poppy plantation was destroyed at an area located between Khoripok and Sehjang villages under New Keithelmanbi police station, Kangpokpi district.
During the operation, the security forces also dismantled and destroyed 5 huts, one bag of fertilizer, spray pumps and chemical herbicides at the site.
